RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale this lovely RHD Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4, 2-litre, ‘K877 MBP’...
We are pleased to offer this S4 Spider again having sold it to the present owner a few years ago. A rare, end of line 105/115-series Spider in 2-litre fuel-injected form. Never officially produced by Alfa Romeo in RHD, a number of cars were converted from LHD and this is one such car, the conversion having been carried out by Sea King (with factory approval). ‘MBP’ still carries the Sea King plaques in the cockpit and the driver’s door shut.

The previous owner and MBOC member purchased ‘MBP’ in May 2003 with the V5C recording only 3 keepers prior to that. The Spider was then little-used from 2006 as a consequence of the owner’s deteriorating health and the Spider was therefore fully inspected and serviced in our workshop before sale to the present owner. Back with us now, we’ve carried out a service and inspection on the ramp, including some minor rectification work, and freshly MoT tested the car.
Alfa bodywork is often cause for concern, but this car appears to be corrosion-free with a nice clean underside and no bodywork issues to note. Aside from a few very small stone-chips, the paint finish is very good indeed. The Spider starts immediately and drives very nicely with the 5-speed, all-synchro gearbox changing smoothly, good strong brakes – as Alfas should have - and responsive steering. Brisk on the road yet all the while comfortable and very civilised, as indeed the late-series Spiders are renowned for.
An affordable way into classic Alfa Romeo ownership and a car which can be used – and enjoyed - as an everyday classic, even in the winter should one wish, with the presence of the original factory hard-top. Values for the 105/115-series Alfa Romeos are rising steadily, so there is perhaps no better time to buy. This low-owner, low mileage Spider looks stunning in the ‘Bianco Freddo’ (230) paint and light tan interior combination, and in such good condition, surely an attractive proposition for the Alfa Romeo enthusiast.
