RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale this lovely RHD Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4, 2-litre, ‘K877 MBP’...

We are pleased to offer this S4 Spider again having sold it to the last 2 owners!  A rare, end of line 105/115-series Spider in 2-litre fuel-injected form.  Never officially produced by Alfa Romeo in RHD, a number of cars were converted from LHD, the conversion having been carried out by Sea King (with factory approval) and ‘MBP’ carries the Sea King plaques in the cockpit.

Production details:

  • First registered: 1 August 1992
  • Chassis No: ZAR11500006008208
  • Paint: Bianco Freddo 230 (Cool/Cold White)

Specification/equipment:

  • Factory hardtop (in very condition, with heated rear window and courtesy light)
  • As-new hardtop storage stand on lockable castors
  • Soft top (recently treated with Autoglym protector) and cover (hood bag)(in tan to match interior trim)
  • Light tan alcantara-leather seats/trim, black carpets with Alfa Romeo Spider overmats
  • Electric windows
  • Early, chrome mirrors (original electric mirrors have been removed but are with the car)
  • Nardi wood & alloy steering wheel
  • Alarm/immobiliser
  • Car cover and bag, also correct S4 tool kit and an as-new CTEK charger (with courtesy lead fitted)
  • MoT valid to April 2020
  • Odo: 58183 km (believed to be correct from new)

The Spider had been little-used from 2006 as a consequence of the then owner’s deteriorating health.  We therefore fully inspected and serviced it before sale to the previous 2 owners, both of whom then asked us to sell the car on again!  Most recently, the owner has used the Spider to support a small classic car hire business and the Spider has been well maintained as a consequence, although actually used very little (2000km since Jul 15).

Alfa bodywork is often cause for concern, but ‘MBP’ appears to be corrosion-free with a nice clean underside and no bodywork deterioration to note.  Aside from a few small stone-chips/blemishes, the paint finish is very good indeed.  The Spider starts briskly and drives very nicely with the 5-speed, all-synchro gearbox changing smoothly.  The brakes are strong and the steering is responsive,  the S4 smooth and enjoyable - noticeably more refined than earlier Spiders.

An affordable way into classic Alfa Romeo ownership and a car which can be used – and enjoyed - as an everyday classic, even in the winter should one wish, with the presence of the original factory hard-top.  Values for the 105/115-series Alfa Romeos are rising steadily, so there is perhaps no better time to buy.

This low-owner, low mileage Spider looks stunning in the ‘Bianco Freddo’ (230) paint and light tan interior combination, and in such good condition, surely an attractive proposition for the Alfa Romeo enthusiast.
