RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale on behalf of the owner, Austin Healey 3000 Mk III Phase II ‘NC3115’ in fast road spec with triple Webers...

A desirable late-model Healey 3000 in a quite unusual but very attractive Grey over Old English White colour scheme with matching blue mohair hood and blue interior trim. ‘NC3115’ has just returned from long-term European ownership with an enthusiast owner for many years in Berlin where it benefitted from significant investment, seemingly in the creation of a fast-road spec car (triple Webers) to undergo road rallies (a rally sticker is still present on the windscreen) and, for example, in fitting an expensive period Becker Europa radio.

Exported by Mr CJ Beauvoisin to Berlin and registered there on 6 April 1978 Owned by an architect (Uwe Pompinon) from April 1979 with the registration ‘B-AH 3000’(!), Valuation and photos following complete restoration in 1993/94 (then in OEW, still on SU carbs) Passed on to new owner West Germany (Herr Klaus Ullrich) as ‘RUD-AH52’ in March 2007 Sold (to Belgium) in June 2014, 80-point check with dealer there, including compression check, servicing, new tyres etc

Today, this 3000 remains a very smart older restoration car that has fared extremely well (with few miles driven annually) and with very good brightwork, chrome wire wheels and the slightly unusual octagonal ‘spinners’ with as-new Vredestein tyres. The as-new blue mohair hood matches the blue leather upholstery (some wear) with black carpets and three-point inertia-reel seatbelts.

NC3115 is now fully re-registered and reunited with her original UK registration mark, taxed and MoT tested (30 Nov 16).

Following the rolling road tuning she feels strong on those triple-Weber carbs with a lovely exhaust note, the gearbox positive but smooth, good servo’d brakes, positive steering with very little slop and overall a sporty yet comfortable and enjoyable drive. The period Becker radio, safety-enhancing 3-point seatbelts and smart blue mohair hood setting off the grey paint all complete a very smart and individual package.

In summary perhaps not a Big Healey for the purist but certainly a 3000 MkIII in Phase II form which is rare (1 of only 1000 produced) and slightly different with this grey over OEW paint scheme and ideally suited to fast road work; this is a drive-away Healey and as a matching numbers, original Home Market RHD Healey with Heritage Certificate and a huge history file certainly a very desirable Austin Healey 3000 Mk III Phase II.

Price: £55,000 ovno
