RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale this 1973 MGB Roadster ‘JFN714L’...A very late-model chrome bumper MGB, in the attractive Damask Red and original Rostyle wheels. JFN714L has been in family ownership since May 1997, having been purchased from Tony Matthews, a well-known local classic car dealer in Worcester. Repairs were carried out to the bodywork in 1985 at which time the car was also fitted with a replacement Gold Seal engine (at 39764 miles) with further, extensive bodywork also carried out in 1995. The extensive history file shows owners, mileage accrued and work completed since 1985. For much of its life it appears that the car was owned by a series of Army officer owners and via Aldershot, Blandford Forum, Holland and Hereford! The car remains very original – interior trim, weather equipment, Rostyle wheels and so on and has been repaired and well-maintained over the years. Since its purchase by the late owner in 1997, the MGB has been used yet cherished although given failing health little mileage has accrued over the past few years with barely 200 miles since 2011. ‘JFN’ starts instantly and drives well. The overdrive is a little lazy to engage (but always does) but she otherwise performs nicely with good steering and brakes, nice smooth positive gearchange and is generally very smooth - noise and vibration free. She comes with the driver’s handbook, face-off stereo unit, vinyl hood and tonneau and a touring spares kit. In summary, a late chrome bumper MGB Roadster that makes for an affordable ‘drive and improve’ purchase yet equally with no foreseeable expenditure in the future.
