RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale on behalf of the owner, this ‘time-warp’ Opel Manta GTE – a verified 49850 miles – with history from new and only one previous owner! NOW SOLD

This Manta GTE was ordered by a gentleman in Nailsea, Bristol on 16 December 1983 and delivered to him on 2 January 1984.

His order details:
Opel Manta GTE 3-door finished in White Gold - £5623, Metallic Paint - £108, Sunroof - £245
Less discount, plus Car Tax, Delivery & number plates, VAT and Road Fund Licence came to a total of £6800!

Comprehensive history file:

  • Complete set of tax discs from new (bar one?)

  • Haynes Workshop Manual for Opel B-series (as-new)

In the cockpit it feels like new with no wear to the colour-matched Recaros, matching upholstery and carpet overmats.  On the bodywork, there are 2 obvious defects, which we hope to be able to rectify prior to purchase, namely a crease to the rear wing just behind the right-side rear wheel (in front of the bumper) and a small dent to the wheel arch on the left-side rear (neither have broken the paint).  There are 2-3 stone-chips to the bonnet.  We have resisted painting anything as this would breach the car’s present totally original condition.

The Manta is driving very nicely – just as one would expect from a car with such low-mileage – and having recently had a couple of minor faults attended to in our workshop.

This is an amazing Manta GTE – increasingly rare on the roads (less than 100 left in the UK reportedly) and seldom seen in this condition and especially with such amazing history!  A real opportunity; drive it, cherish it, show or concours it, you decide!
