RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale this 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider ‘Kammtail’ - ‘XGB147S’...

A desirable Alfa Romeo 2-litre Kammtail Spider and surely also very rare in Ivory paint and burgundy trim! In long-term ownership, some 20 years, with its previous AROC member enthusiast, XGB is only now for sale from his estate and thus offers an opportunity to purchase a Spider in very nice condition.

  • Paint: Avorio (Ivory) 103
  • Cromodora 5-spoke alloys with 195/60 tyres (as-new)
  • Mileage: 101648 (believed genuine,
  • MoT history shows mileage tripping 100k at 7/5/13)

History file:

  • Previous V5Cs (back to owners in 1984)
  • MoT Certificates (back to 1984)
  • AROC Alfa Romeo Centenary magazine (the owner and Spider attended the celebrations in Milan)
  • Invoices for maintenance including new tyres, clutch slave cylinder and servicing in 2014
  • Engine and gearbox rebuild and complete car-condition check by Benalfa in 2006 (at 82000mi)

XGB is a well-maintained Alfa Spider with very good bodywork. Following a thorough check in our bodyshop, we carried out one small welding repair to the underside; she is waxoyl –protected. Back in the workshop and freshly serviced, she is a delight to drive! Strong on the road with nice direct steering, smooth/slick gearchange (no synchro problems), excellent brakes, good oil pressure and low/normal water temperature. Everything works and she is freshly MoT tested.

The interior, in burgundy, is in very good condition with new door cards, very good seats (seatbelts are fitted), an unusually good, crack-free dash, and black carpet. The hood has just been re-coloured and rain protected with Renovo and the original-style hood bag is present. The boot is carpeted (the original cover remains underneath) and fitted with the spare wheel, original AR jack and wheel brace and a touring spares kit. The original steel wheels and centre finishers remain available with the car, so too the original/standard exhaust tail-pipe (sports rear section presently fitted). In summary, if you are looking for a stylish yet practical convertible then the 2-litre Spider is an excellent choice.

This car’s Ivory paint with burgundy trim ensure it stands out from the usual Rosso-red cars! Upgraded with a sports exhaust, the smart Cromodora alloys and fully serviced, this is a Spider to drive away and enjoy and the extensive history file simply completes the package!
