RetroMarques Ltd is pleased to offer for sale on behalf of the owner, this stunning, fully-restored, all-alloy Austin-Healey 100/4 BN1 to M-spec ‘MSF361’...

A fully restored, all alloy bodied ‘lightweight’ Healey 100 and finished in the very attractive 100S colours of white over Lobelia Blue. An original Home Market, right-hand drive car, this late BN1 started its life in Scotland and has had a very colourful life as the history ‘book’ accompanying the car describes! Indeed, the present owner has diligently uncovered much of this Healey’s early history, including a very early respray in green/black, modification to M-spec and club-level racing!

Build details:

  • Chassis No: BN1/159472
  • Engine No: 1B214630
  • Date of Build: 20 July 1954

This Healey was sourced to order for a customer well-known to us as he had always desired a Healey 100. We found ‘MSF’ partly restored as a rolling chassis, the engine and most mechanicals already rebuilt and fitted. Following purchase on his behalf, we proceeded to complete the fit of the new alloy panels (wings, doors, bootlid and bonnet) and to check the whole for alignment to the shroud and generally - door shuts etc. Thereafter we painted the car, trimmed it and fitted it out before waxoyling (in clear) and road-testing/shakedown running. MSG was then delivered to its British owner, who by then had moved to France (the Healey has nonetheless remained UK registered).

Whilst aware of some of its history, the owner has carried out some excellent detective work and ascertained much of its early history – colourful indeed – and which is now recorded in the pdf history ‘book’ accompanying the car.

I have personally driven circa 750 miles in this car, including delivery to France. She is strong on the road and smooth, certainly feeling very taut with untoward rattles, vibrations etc. Recent minor maintenance has been on the brakes, lighting (electrical gremlins), carbs and a pair of new batteries.

The owner now wishes to move on to a 2+2 Coupe and this therefore presents an opportunity to purchase a fully restored, M-spec Healey 100 in the very attractive Healey 100S colours of white and Lobelia Blue. With still only 2000 miles and barely 2 years since the restoration was completed, this is a top-notch Healey 100 which should provide many years of pleasure, no matter whether local drives or more serious adventures such as the Mille Miglia!
